WALLACE D. BEST AT KARIBU BOOKS

The Perfect Plan of Greater Washington (TPP) and Councilman Douglass JJ Peters, present a special Black History Month Event with Professor Wallace D. Best, PhD, who has authored Passionately Human, No Less Divine. The book signing and discussion will be held at the Karibu Books in the Bowie Town Center located at 15624 Emerald Way, Bowie, MD.

Best, who has been Assistant Professor of African American Religious Studies at Harvard Divinity School since 2004, is a historian of religion dedicated to imparting his wealth of knowledge to the masses. Best received his master’s degree in theological studies from Wheaton College and his doctorate degree in United State history from Northwestern University. Published by Princeton University Press, Passionately Human, No Less Divine, divulges the religious, cultural, social implications of the Great Migration on blacks.

To illustrate his unyielding support for community-based educational efforts, Wallace D. Best will donate a portion of all book profits to The Foundation for the Advancement of Music and Education, Inc. (FAME), which provides scholarships to children and young adults who aspire to further enhance their musical and educational integrity. “Professor Best’s book is important because it discloses elements of our history that is unknown to many. We are honored that he has chosen to make such a generous contribution to our group as a result of his teachings,” said Thurman M. Davis, Sr, Chairman of the Board for FAME.
